Nutella+Chocolate+Peanut Butter=DELISH!


Ok so actually it creates the awesome 'sauce' that binds the rest of it all together. Let me take a minute to backtrack a little bit.

Have I explained to all of you that I am a newcomer to the great taste that is Nutella? I'm not a lover of peanut butter, and have only recently found a love for sunflower butter. Because of my non-love for peanut butter, I was very afraid to try Nutella. I mean honestly afraid. I didn't want to buy a buy a jar of this stuff and have it be something I wouldn't eat! So, back in March I took a giant leap and bought a jar. Upon opening it, I was in heaven. That first spoonful was bliss. In that moment, I could understand that 'first high' that potheads speak of. That ultimate high that will then cause someone to seek out 'bigger and better' drugs to try. It was better than sex!

Haha, okay so maybe not. But it was absolutely perfect! I loved it. So now its a regular staple in my household. It goes on/in everything. Bland oatmeal? Add a spoonful of Nutella and stir. Instant awesome. Chocolate toast is a big thing with my little birdies, a thin layer of sunflower butter and a thin layer of Nutella. They're in love.



I know the image is blurry. No matter how many times I took these pictures they came out blurry. They just refused to give me a good shot. There's no way to describe these things. I mean - There. Are. No. Words. I demand you make them and find out for yourself.

The original recipe came from... Well, I don't know where it came from. I could have sworn it came from The Pioneer Woman but, I just went to go find it on her site and I can't find it. This is not good. =/ I hate not giving credit where credit is due. Anyway, here's the recipe.

Rocky Road Rice Krispie Treats
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup nutella
  • 1/2 cup mini-marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup pecans*
  • 3/4 cup rice krispies**
  1. Melt the chocolate chips, peanut butter and nutella for two minutes in the microwave. Stir until smooth.
  2. Mix in the marshmallows and pecans. Fold in rice krispies.
  3. Pour mixture into a well greased 8x8 glass baking dish. Refrigerate for 1 hour.


Note: I did a rough chop on the pecans to incorporate them more. Not a big deal, but it did help get the nut into all of the squares.
Note: This is the original recipe, I found with a 3/4 cup rice krispies it was very rich. Almost too rich. I tripled the rice krispies and it tasted just perfect!
